Transportation and Manufacturing

When it comes to transportation and manufacturing, no matter which industry you cater to, there are a lot of moving parts, each one dependent on another. Choosing Workforce Manager as the backbone of your company’s integral processes is a surefire way to avoid bumps in the road or on the assembly line.

Organize inventory input and output

Whether it’s textiles, food, or electronics on the production line, keep careful track of your precious stockpile of goods, both pre- and post-production.

Spend less on fuel

Monitor the near real-time positions of your vehicles and analyze detailed reports about vehicle usage in order to help curb unnecessary idle time and excessive speeding, saving money on fuel costs.

Improve safety

Use secure internal messaging to quickly send information updates to all pertinent team members, keeping everyone on the same page and reducing safety issues.

Fleet

In this industry, your fleet is your biggest investment, so treat it that way. Make sure your employees are handling these vehicles with respect and that you don’t let routine maintenance fall off schedule.

Asset

Keeping tabs on your equipment is as essential as tracking the vehicles you use to transport it all. From tools to machinery and everything in between, safeguarding your gear can help save money in the long haul.

Handsets

Handset tracking gives you insight into your on-the-clock employees’ whereabouts and activities even after they’ve exited their vehicles, improving transparency and increasing accountability.

Kick off the day with

Timekeeping

Make sure your employees — whether they’re on the assembly line or behind the wheel of a truck — are where they’re supposed to be when clocked in.

“Efficiency has spiked by 50 percent and we have saved hundreds of dollars each month.”

  • Increase worker accountability
  • Reduce unnecessary overpay
  • Track worker whereabouts

Locate your team with

GPS Tracking

Always be on top of where your workers are in near real-time, so you know that your team is staying on task, exactly as they should be.

“It’s great being able to show our customers a report with the time and location to confirm we were at the site, so we get paid accurately.”

  • Track from anywhere
  • Receive location-based alerts
  • Reduce fuel costs

AT&T Enhanced Push-to-Talk integration

AT&T Workforce Manager makes it even easier for you to coordinate mobile employees with Enhanced Push-to-Talk (EPTT). Speak with multiple team members at once via desktop-to-handset integration to save time and improve clarity.

Delegate tasks with

Job Dispatching

Help to make sure that drivers are getting to their destinations as quickly as possible, avoiding potentially costly delays.

“Now, with our fully automated system, we have reduced our response time by more than 50 percent.”

  • Avoid traffic
  • Prioritize orders
  • Choose assignments wisely

Organize data collection with

Wireless Forms

With orders and jobs flying in and out, bring some order to the chaos by ditching cumbersome paper forms and implementing cost-effective, eco-friendly digital versions.

“Wireless Forms has greatly increased the efficiency of our service calls. [Actsoft’s] Professional Services team went above and beyond to make sure our experience was top notch.”

  • Reduce mistakes from illegibility
  • Speed up processing times
  • Improve customer service

Fleet Monitoring

Fleet tracking on Workforce Manager works to increase driver safety during daily deliveries and also helps keep your transportation workers committed to responsible vehicle operation. Erratic driving can be dangerous, burn higher amounts of fuel, and increase repair costs over time.

“[Fleet Tracking] saved us on productivity by increasing our awareness and improving our ability to monitor performance.”

Asset Management

Attet tracking on Workforce Manager allows transportation and manufacturing companies to track valuable equipment beyond just fleet vehicles. Containers with valuable cargo are able to be monitored separately than the truck carrying them, plus keep track of all your costly warehouse equipment to help prevent theft.

Keep everyone updated with

Messaging

Relay messages to large groups — or bundles of smaller, specific sets — of people to make sure major updates are delivered quickly and efficiently.

  • Improve safety
  • Keep everyone updated
  • Save time

Improve inventory management with

Barcode Scanning

Avoid misplacing or miscounting inventory by instead scanning barcodes as packages arrive or leave, helping to keep an accurate count of all product.

“Delivery time has been reduced to less than one minute for scanning 30 items of inventory from the truck.”

  • Reduce human error
  • Speed up processes
  • Keep inventory current

Use Cases

Waste Removal

Track garbage trucks in near real-time, adjust routes on the fly, and receive alerts when waste collection vehicles deviate from custom-drawn zones on Workforce Manager’s live view map. Waste removal organizations can use the Traffic Overlay feature to see near real-time congestion patterns on their live view map, and craft smarter routes for their truck drivers to take based off of current traffic data.

Factory Production

Keep accurate track of inventory after it makes its way down the assembly line. Barcode Scanning lets workers quickly and easily scan boxed goods to digitally account for and keep a record of all product, both when it’s packaged for storage or as it’s leaving the warehouse for delivery.

Deliveries

Move goods more efficiently by using Workforce Manager to monitor delivery vehicles, ensuring that they’re being operated safely and reaching their destinations in a timely manner. Run a more streamline production, keep your drivers safer through GPS location services, and use Wireless Forms to document successful deliveries.
